Macbook pro 2015: will it run?
I have an early 2015 model of the 13" macbook pro.
2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
8GB RAM
Intel Iris Graphics 6100

I'm off to Uni soon and can't bring the classic rig, so as well as Stellaris can I run paradox games?

cheers

Yes.

And if you need to be 200% sure, pre-order on Steam. That way you have your 2 hour refund window in case it for some ungodly reason won't run on Monday.

Did you get it? Is playable?

I had some performance issues with EUIV (well, the mac was getting extremely hot), so i am wondering...

Again... buy it, try it, refund if not happy...
Have same machine. Works fine. Some lag with bigger space battles, but you can just zoom out. Slows down a bit as the game gets to mid-late phase, but certainly manageable. I also highly recommend the game, it's great and getting better.
I should also mention that once the game starts running slower, just soon in to a particular system and out of the galaxy map and it will speed up considerably (if you're waiting for a tech to finish for example)
Thanks all for the responses! When I do get round to playing I'll let you all know
i played the game with my gamer pc and my macbook pro 2010 with a nvida 320M.

Yes, it is slow. Yes, of course the fan gets noisy. BUT It works and you can play it just like on the big screen.

Maybe my first MacBook Hardcore game, that does works as smooth as a 6-year old macbook could be ^^

I did it look it up, and my results were not definitive so I did the most reasonable thing.

Cheers mate! I sorta expected the issues you mentioned, not really convinced I should do it. Half scared I'll muddy up the mac since it's necessary for my work

Only played a bit, but so far my Mac Book pro 2013 15" version is working. I have 16 gigs of ram though but still, older version and works good.
I have the same macbook pro and the only 2 games I've played on it are StarCraft 2 and Papers, Please (lol). It actually ran SC2 perfectly. It gets hot during gaming but that's mostly because the MacOS decides when to turn the Turbo Boost on or off depending on cpu usage/demand. Turbo Boost increases base clock to 3.1. I installed a MacOS utility called Turbo Boost Switcher so I can turn turbo boost on and off and keep an eye on my cpu temp.
