Suddenly 100% crime?
Hi guys. Something strange happened while playing Stellaris. Suddenly all three of my planets gained 100% crime for no apparent reason.

Is this a bug?

Check the last tab on the bottom of the planet screen to see if a criminal syndicate set up branch offices on your planets.

Or, make sure you pops are actually working. Sometimes when you change a species their rights get messed up and they aren't allowed to work, then suddenly a bunch of unemployed pops cause crime to skyrocket.

Yep, most likely a criminal syndicate, but then, build a psi corps or even precinct houses and you'll be a-ok. More anti-crime you build, the more chance you have of shutting it down. =)

My planets were at full employment right before and suddenly crime rose to 100% and half the pop became unemployed!

I will try building precints then!

Crime doesn't make them unemployed, it's the other way around. Unemployed pops cause crime. Check why your pops are unemployed and fix that and your crime will go away.

So for some reason the entire population has become enslaved. I don't understand why!

I can't even change their rights!

Did you ascend, get a new trait, or modify the species? Like I said sometimes when the species changes the rights get messed up. Usually this can be fixed if you edit or try to edit the rights, if you have certain ethics that might be impossible and I honestly don't know how to fix it.

if you became robots but changed ai rights to servitude that could do it, or you might have just set your rights to make your default species slaves?

Nope. I did not become robots and I can't change the rights of my species at all. I also noticed that my species now have three points for traits which is bizarre.

Is there a way I can see which crime syndicate set up offices in my planets?

Corporate tag, that will tell you if there's a corporation on your planet.

Also in a caste system all miners and farmers are slaves.

The corporation tab is greyed out! (I don't have the Megacorp DLC).

And yes, all my pop are slaves besides 3-4 pops per planet as 'criminals'.

Three trait points appeared? Sounds like a tradition done....biogenesis (hope i wrote it right).
Panzerechse 16 DIC 2018 a las 4:47 a. m.
PS: I guess I have a hint. He got new race trait points and so his race got "flagged" as different from the original race (even without spending it). And the game often put the new, genetical better race into a lower social status then the original race, thus the enslaved population.

The op should check species rights and fix his problem there.

Well one thing that helped was that I changed the status of the existing species to allow them to be employed as artisans but not rulers. That dropped unemployment and crime to zero. But by then my economy was ruined. I also needed a whopping 260 months to bioengineer all the pop again and close to the 40 month mark, the Great Khan showed up and started invading my empire. They destroyed one research station after another and the bioengineering stuck at 40 months until it completion (I would never be able to complete it). I just abandoned the game and started a fresh one. Interesting experience!
