This just happeend and I got a notification - should I be worried?

Ok what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on a massive fleet just appeared out of nowhere in my main system and are raping me send help

The "Unbidden" i presume? When they appear they usually have a large force that appear at will usually around a portal which will spawn even more fleets. In a way they are "glass cannons"
They have very strong shields but poor armor. so you would require kinetic weaponry (the kinetic guns, auto cannons and whatever else there is to rapidly take down their shields. as well torpedos and aircraft to pass right through their shields and do hull damage while your kinetic weapons pound their shields. But at most preservernce and know the fact that the ai will rather die. "literaly" than help you.
Also the reason that they appear most likely someone (or you )researched the tech psyionic warp drive. or whatever the heck its called. which would of caused a tear to appear and summoned the "Unbidden". oh and btw there weapons are strong against shields.

They were spawning in my main system, my fleet was half way accross the galaxy fighting a war. I moved in my grand fleet to make an example of them, and got crushed. I then gave this system to my ally, so he could do something about it while I rebuild. I rebuilt my fleet using mainly armour and torpedoes (I had 2 whole battleships with nothing but large torpedoes), and came in for round 2. Pretty much crushing them in the process. they had already taken over the area, so I could just reclaim it easily.
