As far as i know under no curcamstances you can colonize planets in other empire territory. Alience, federation counts too.
it's not like one planet will screw up your empire.
Such a diabolic idea :D
The devs could troll us with this one on April 1st - I mean, everybody would love getting random A.I. colonies all over their territory, amirite? *giggles*
frankly, allowing this through treaties would be amazing for multiplayer.
More on topic now, you really should be able to colonize within other empires' borders, and build military space stations with different levels of provocation. In real life, one of the biggest causes for war throughout history has been people settling areas that were claimed by some other people - good examples being Cossacks in eurasia, and white settlers in North America. ♥♥♥♥ the map, we need living space. I want to settle planets in another empire's borders, and then kick their ass when they declare war for it. Same with frontier outposts - i mean, what else is "frontier outpost" supposed to mean? I dont like that this game wont let me be a true belligerent space meany, following and faithfully fulfilling my species' biological imperative to expand and multiply at everyone else's expense.
Doesn't mean anything lol. People that are watching the topic dont sit on the forums 24 hours, and tend to check it the next time they log on(the next day or whatever) it then gets bumped to the top when they respond. There is a new post every 20 minutes or so at least.. not dead lol(check some older games where there is one post a week :P).
ok, fair point. I still feel that the game is dying (a rather young death) due to Paradox's lack of attention (probably due to releasing the new Hearts of Iron) and the general poor design of the game in the first place. You play a few games, and then its like "meh." Generally speaking, there are 2 ways the game is deficient : lack of content, in that you do the same things over and over ; and the technology and infrastructure available to your empire is not commensurate with what an interstellar empire should have. I genuinely struggle to think of one thing that I think was done in an immersive and believable way.
That said, I do like the game, and have spent an irrational amount of time playing it. It's just that its really only adequate for something in beta, or even a bit before beta (it's a grey area, but I don't think my standards are too high). Sure, they will flesh it out with DLC, but it better be some really cheap dlc or it just wont be worth it, and it better be fast, cuz I dont think this game has as much appeal as EU4 did and HOI4 does at the start - meaning interest in the game will wane faster. I am quite concerned that this game that could be really really great simply wont be, because it's not receiving the attention it needs.
