Allow colonisation within other empire borders?
I just colonized a world close to my neighbors. This planet has perfect cllimate for my mushroom dudes and 25 tiles! But i also cut off access to colonization of TWO planets perfect for my neighbors. They are an ok guys so i feel like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I would gladly give them access to colonization of those planet but sadly there is no such option :(. Whay do you guys think about this idea?

What about forming an alliance? Or just giving therm access in the negotiation screen?

You could conquer the other empire and then just colonize that planets with their people.

As far as i know under no curcamstances you can colonize planets in other empire territory. Alience, federation counts too.

They must learn about your peaceful ways. By force.

no choice: give them your pretty planet in a trade and make sure you end up being best friends forever, that's the only true pacifist way.

it's not like one planet will screw up your empire.

Colonization within other empires' borders?
Such a diabolic idea :D
The devs could troll us with this one on April 1st - I mean, everybody would love getting random A.I. colonies all over their territory, amirite? *giggles*

Hmm, it's a bit convoluted, but you could always research the required colonization tech, colonize with droids. And after that you can gift the planet to your AI friend. Their POPs should migrate there eventually. The borders will look a bit wonky after you do it, though.

frankly, allowing this through treaties would be amazing for multiplayer.

My ally stole a system which a planed to colonize (i got ship building already). There was 2 planet with 20+ tiles with perfect climate for my birds. You know why he do that? Because of 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 9 tiles planet. I have to save scum, because situations like that is complete BS. I hope Paradox will allow colonisation within other empires borders, if they are members of federation. You have to ask permission first- is it ok that i colonize that planet within your borders bro? Maybe you have to give other empire something in return- they could ask for minerals for example.
Galactic Origins Jul 9, 2016 @ 7:37am
well, if you feel bad, coloniz the planets and transfer them to your allies

wow, this discussion is still near the top of the list, a week after I first read it... evidence this game is dying. Good job, PDX, you're killing your own game with your lack of attention to detail, your community is disappearing.

More on topic now, you really should be able to colonize within other empires' borders, and build military space stations with different levels of provocation. In real life, one of the biggest causes for war throughout history has been people settling areas that were claimed by some other people - good examples being Cossacks in eurasia, and white settlers in North America. ♥♥♥♥ the map, we need living space. I want to settle planets in another empire's borders, and then kick their ass when they declare war for it. Same with frontier outposts - i mean, what else is "frontier outpost" supposed to mean? I dont like that this game wont let me be a true belligerent space meany, following and faithfully fulfilling my species' biological imperative to expand and multiply at everyone else's expense.

Doesn't mean anything lol. People that are watching the topic dont sit on the forums 24 hours, and tend to check it the next time they log on(the next day or whatever) it then gets bumped to the top when they respond. There is a new post every 20 minutes or so at least.. not dead lol(check some older games where there is one post a week :P).

ok, fair point. I still feel that the game is dying (a rather young death) due to Paradox's lack of attention (probably due to releasing the new Hearts of Iron) and the general poor design of the game in the first place. You play a few games, and then its like "meh." Generally speaking, there are 2 ways the game is deficient : lack of content, in that you do the same things over and over ; and the technology and infrastructure available to your empire is not commensurate with what an interstellar empire should have. I genuinely struggle to think of one thing that I think was done in an immersive and believable way.

That said, I do like the game, and have spent an irrational amount of time playing it. It's just that its really only adequate for something in beta, or even a bit before beta (it's a grey area, but I don't think my standards are too high). Sure, they will flesh it out with DLC, but it better be some really cheap dlc or it just wont be worth it, and it better be fast, cuz I dont think this game has as much appeal as EU4 did and HOI4 does at the start - meaning interest in the game will wane faster. I am quite concerned that this game that could be really really great simply wont be, because it's not receiving the attention it needs.
