fleet missing in action forever
so a large game i am playing with some friends i managed to miss the last session so the AI took over (AI btw is retarded)

it would seem that my empire decided to attack another one and when that war finished a rather large fleet ended up MIA

the alert saying missing fleet gives me a return by time that is ticking up at the same rate as the game is progressing - effectively meaning the fleet will never return

what can i do :c?

You are not the only one, I got a 49k fleet perpetually returning in my previous game (and it was ironman, so wonderful for me). It seems to be happening when you are over your naval quota even by a little bit. i sure wouls like to see if anyone has an answer for this...

On top of the perpetual Missing in Action, some fleets will be stuck in FTL, which requires deleting their current orders, in addition to replacing the entries.

I get this issue mostly as a result of integrating vassals into the empire. There seems to almost always be a fleet or two that go Missing in Action, which is unfortunate when you have a lot of vassals you are integrating. I usually wait until I have 3 or 4 fleets missing in action before I do the save file edit.

Are you the one who hosted/saved the game? From a brief search, the person who hosted the game should be the one who has the save file.

The default location in windows should be in the Documents/My Documents folder under Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\save games. Each game will have it's own separate folder of individual save files. Don't know if Multiplayer games save in a different location, but I'd start there or do a search on your computer for *.sav files, though that file extension is used by a number of other games such as Portal 2.

The annoying thing for me was everytime I renamed the file back to .sav when I had to fix an issue, windows would automatically load Portal...
