"WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS!?"

The dragon origin is an infuriating, bugged disaster.

Not only does Living Metal not give you the tech when you find the deposit and its super hard to get living metal to build dragons, but the event chain keeps breaking. At first I thought it was because I loaded a game (not that THAT would be an excuse!), but the Sky Dragon didn't talk when I did the first contact on my latest playthrough. So, I didn't even have the conversation with the dragon that says its waiting for me to "be ready."

Got Psychic Ascension as my fourth perk. Nothing. I breached the Shroud. Nothing. I went ahead to get 6 perks. NOTHING.

I happened to play this origin couple of times with various builds for the past week, and each one fired off without fail. I do notice I do not get the living metals tech research option as I discover the living metals unless I play aquatics + angler trait starting species though, other than that dragon events fires off fine and I always gets the 50k fleet power dragon + option to build offsprings after I get my 4th perk.

Maybe mods?

Just played it on the big map for There be Dragons achievement, final fleet 550000 power 10 dragons and their elder Sky Dragon, Shard and the Ether Drake (3.6 beta version)

Had this happen in my last Here Be Dragons game. The first contact succeeded, but I didn't get the contact dialogue, and therefore never unlocked the Sky Dragon after finishing my Ascension Path or all my Traditions. It was in the beta patch, though, so I figured it was a new bug with the revamped Ascensions.

Had it succeed fine the time before on the beta patch, but had to restart because there weren't 13 dragons in the Galaxy that game.

Has anyone tried the origin with the 3.6 beta? Since there is no longer a second ascenion perk for pop ascension path and a 4th path with cybernetic.

Haven't tried in 3.6 beta yet but tried for the achieve a couple weeks ago in current (non-beta) version. Three games, the events fired but in 2 of the games I never got the living metal deposit near my home system and in one of those never found living metal at all and I played well past the mid game, fully into repeatables, before I called it and tried some other achieves... now I can't get the subterranean one to fire for crap sigh

.....that's just another stipulation! Why would it only work for aquatics? Did they just not test it with any other species and never noticed?

I see bugs running I've seen for several versions now the devs can't fix in time to release the next dlc that has more bugs, the bugs congeal with the previous bugs their too busy trying to fix the new bugs only to need more money to release another dlc to add more bugs.

To get the dragon to speak to you, you also have to make contact with 50% of the galaxy's empires. If you play without any AI empires to get the achievement, create a vassal with one of your sectors and release them. The dragon dialogue should trigger instantly.

I'm *pretty sure* that I already have that, but I guess I could quickly do some trades for everyone's communication info...

Edit: No. I see the whole galaxy now and NOTHING has changed.
