So far, no frigates???
Started three games so far in the beta build. I still haven't found the frigate type.

Its Unlocked With the Torpedo Tech, have you seen that?

I got the option for Destroyers before I got Torpedo tech, so I'm still waiting to see Frigates myself.

that sounds normal. Torpedo tech was always one of those low chance draw cards even before the beta. Try assigning a propulsion scientist to engineering. That should increase the chance it shows up by a bit. Having additional research choices (via tech or tradition) helps too.

Just to add to this, you actually need to unlock the Tech 2 missiles (Fusion Missiles) first, to get access to Space Torpedoes.
Space Torpedoes unlocks both the Frigate hull and Torpedo Tech.

That wasn't yet the case when this thread was created.

I always wonder how people find these old threads to reply to.

Internet searches. They typically won't read the small text, and the date for Steam discussions is faded, small, and also ignored when they get here. People are in a hurry to find the answer typically for one reason or another and miss these details.

I simply find it ironic that others tell new threads to 'go search for the answer yourself'. This is one result of that sentiment. I wonder if those same people dislike necromancy.

Either they search. Mostly when someone has a problem, then the post is usually "anyone got a fix?"

Or, there also is an old bug with the steam client. If you click through the forum pages, then use the "browser back" button (like on your mouse), the forum may display some year-old threads instead of what should actually be there.

I've inadvertently necro'd a few threads when I've forgotten I was reading an old thread and got caught up in the conversion and felt the need to contribute.
