Best Youtube Let's Play intro to the game?

It's weird that to me, the best "what is Stellaris" videos are still Many A True Nerd's marathon series' of v2.2 and v2.3 gameplay.

Granted, they're post-2.2 so they don't contain the confusing "old economy" tile-based system. But they're 3-4 years old. Are there any more up to date LP series that give potential players a good impression of what playing Stellaris is actually like?

Lathland makes edited videos that are fun to watch for people who know the game, or people who want to be entertained, but they don't do a good job of showing what playing Stellaris is actually like. Nor do MATN's newer videos.

Any suggestions that meet my criteria?

I'll don't watch Stellaris Let's Play videos myself, so I can't suggest a good one. However, even if I did recommend a specific one that recommendation would be out of date before long.

So instead, I'll suggest how to find current Let's Play videos in general, and leave the selecting of a good one or the best one to you and others in a market for such content at any given point in time.

If you go to YouTube and search "Stellaris Let's Play" (or replacing "Stellaris" for the name of any other game) then you will be served up a list of videos, which could well be long and include outdated content. However, if you then click "Filters" at the top of the search results you will be presented with a variety of options to narrow your search.

Sorting by upload date will put the newest videos first, which is a quick way to order the search results so that you find the freshest content. You might prefer to be able to sort by rating or view count, though, so another way to push away outdated content is to use an "Upload Date" filter. Select an option that falls within the period since the last major patch (for example, if the last major patch was five weeks ago then you might select the option "This Month") to strip out as many outdated results as possible. If instead you are willing to tolerate some outdated content in order to ensure that no new content is removed then choose the search option one step larger than the last major patch (for example, if the last major patch was five weeks ago then you might select the option "This Year").

Ideally you would be able to input a specific date, but this post isn't about the limitations of YouTube's search function so I'll leave that at that.

Between limiting the upload date of your search results and possibly also sorting by upload date you should be able to find the newest Let's Play results available for the game. Finding the best of those is something probably best left to the individual searcher (as "best" may vary from one to the next based on personal preferences anyway). Hopefully, the process of making that determination will yield the information you seek.
