Horrific Inverse Mass... options?
So... I rode out the events and my Capital planet is now a black hole with a Dimensional Horror ornament.

Is there any further options to interact with the planet? I can't seem to attack the worm or build a Penrose sphere around the black hole. Really wanted to name my new capital Hubris...

Does it do anything else?

or you can screw them like they screwed you and script your way out of it.

thsi situation is irreversible in normal game, and you can not savescum out of it, which is intended by sadistic dev, yet it can be overturned.

this is assuming that you already came to the final event id which is situation.1095 (An End), where you ave 33% chance of good outcome, or 66% chance of bad outcome

read below.

1. get the CE cheat table for stellaris, the newest is 3.8.3
2. run CE, enable console in an ironman game, turn CE off, alt tab back into game, hit the ¸ key
3. right click on event icon so it dissapears
4. in console type the following, one after another:

effect remove_modifier = horror_too_late
effect remove_planet_flag = black_hole_horror
effect set_planet_flag = stabilized_horror

bam, now you have a good modifier, your capital city is okay and your game experience is a bit tainted because you had to crack the game to do it, but the playthrough is salvaged.

now exit to desktop, reenter stellaris and never use the cheat again unless you run into a situation liek this again :)

You're a lifesaver.

don't tamper with eldritch secrets if you're not prepared for unspeakable horrors.

Unspeakable horrors I can handle
Losing planets... NOT ON MY WATCH!

Right, if it had just mutated my people into monsters I would have been fine with it.

but this is no fun.

Definitely the biggest flaw I found with it. A lot of the event chains are unfortunately like that. They either lack any appealing forks in their path at all or just feel more depressing to play than fun.

Got this event on a biggest research world.

On getting this popup resettled everyone except pops working on dimensional portal (felt wrong to not leave them behind to Do the Thing) and then somehow got a positive outcome, so had to resettle everyone back.

10/10 would screw with eldritch horrors again anytime.

Hi, I'm writing through a translator. on your advice, I was able to remove the modifier from the planet, but the event still comes out and the capital is destroyed. I did not understand your point "collapse the event with the right mouse button". Please tell me again. Thank you.

well that was stupid. i agree with other posts, that was just generally no fun. temporary research boost for a 60% chance to lose your capital? i expect my actions to have consequences, not for the entire stability of my empire to depend on an RNG diceroll that came as a result of me sacrificing a lot just to kill a big monster. this is the first and only time i've taken a serious blow in this game that didn't feel 'fair', even though i've suffered through other negative RNG events before, this was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unreal

Extreme modifiers carry extreme risks.

every extreme risk ive seen thus far in my gameplay was extreme debuffs or resource loss, or at least if there was a potential very negative outcome i had a way to mitigate it as a major loss to myself, but having the stability of my entire empire decided on a single RNG diceroll is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. your reward for sacrificing a bunch of ships and resources to defeat the big monster is a weighted negative coinflip on your capital getting black holed. this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb
Elitewrecker PT 12/jul./2024 às 10:53
Resource loss isn't an extreme risk.
You didn't have to sacrifice a bunch of ships and resources, could have killed it later.
Also, it didn't have to be the capital - you can change the target planet for the leviathan parades.

Just "remove the modifier" when the option pops up. The +50%/+50% res/uni is only for one planet, not for the whole empire, so the risk seems to me to be high for little gain.

Even if you savescum, you can go back to this point, and not "ruin an entire afternoon" (I know the feeling). Or just press on in this game, and remember what happened for the next.

it's fun to move this event to a settled moon with an orbital ring. It's so cure!
