Horrific Inverse Mass... options?
So... I rode out the events and my Capital planet is now a black hole with a Dimensional Horror ornament.

Is there any further options to interact with the planet? I can't seem to attack the worm or build a Penrose sphere around the black hole. Really wanted to name my new capital Hubris...

Does it do anything else?

I got this event and tried to save scum it to get the slightly better option of not losing the planet but 12 tries and all I got was a black hole.

40% my backside. I mean I know you can flip a quarter 20 times and get heads everytime but come on.

Anyway no answer for you other than next time I get the event I'm def choosing a different path.

might be one of the events that's determined when it starts

When you get the final selection it says that you'll get 1 of the 2 outcomes, 1 having a 40% chance. Which means not losing your planet.

Yeah except the roll on whether or not the final selection destroys your planet was decided in the third modifier event before the final event.

It was made that way so you can't reload a save just before the final event hits to re-roll your chances. You actually need to go back farther in your saves. Also i believe it is 33% survive 66% collapse.

I did some googling and apparently the dice roll actually happens a step back in the event chain so it is 60-40 but the decision has already been made by the time you see that.
I was able to savescum and move my pops off world before the end.

I'm also not doing this again, but mostly because you just lose your planet and that's it. I was cool with some consequences, even a wrecked planet, but this is no fun.

the terraform a planet for 200 credits or something like that is like this too, determined when you finish the anomaly. i believe the l-cluster is determined on galaxy generation.

but then the old terraforming equipment on planets is determined when you finish the special project.

Yeah it might've been 33%, working on memory. Generally things that are already decided don't give you the numbers like that. Normally anyway.

Which ever developer created this event needs to lose their job. They have absolutely no business being involved in games development. What utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, literally just ruined an entire afternoon.

it's a gamble. 50% more unity and research isn't to be scoffed at. Just move your capital to an empty ring segment before starting the even chain.

well, at least you can rerol the type of black hole (empty / 2-8 engeneering / 1-5 physics / 1-2 dark matter)

Scream as much as you like. But in the end you've still been con'd.

or you can screw them like they screwed you and script your way out of it.

thsi situation is irreversible in normal game, and you can not savescum out of it, which is intended by sadistic dev, yet it can be overturned.

this is assuming that you already came to the final event id which is situation.1095 (An End), where you ave 33% chance of good outcome, or 66% chance of bad outcome

read below.

1. get the CE cheat table for stellaris, the newest is 3.8.3
2. run CE, enable console in an ironman game, turn CE off, alt tab back into game, hit the ¸ key
3. right click on event icon so it dissapears
4. in console type the following, one after another:

effect remove_modifier = horror_too_late
effect remove_planet_flag = black_hole_horror
effect set_planet_flag = stabilized_horror

bam, now you have a good modifier, your capital city is okay and your game experience is a bit tainted because you had to crack the game to do it, but the playthrough is salvaged.

now exit to desktop, reenter stellaris and never use the cheat again unless you run into a situation liek this again :)

On the contrary! I congratulate the dev for this decision. There are far too few games with real consequences. And Stellaris is ment to be played all over again anyway so what?
