Pops refusing to fill security jobs
Hello reader! I've been having some issues with my Gestalt empires lately - both as Hive Mind and Robots. The Hunter-Killer role that reduces deviancy is not being filled by my pops sometimes, eventually leading to crime. Even fiddling about with the job priorities to give them the little gold star does nothing. On my massive planet of 70+ drones, none of them are willing to be hunter-killers :( This only happens sometimes, and I have no idea why.

Do you have multiple different types of drones?

Could be that all available drones are better suited in a different slot.
And the game tries fill the security with a drone that hasn't been produced yet?
Perhaps, but no - to ease on micromanagement I keep to a single type of pop. :/ Also it only occurs on some of my planets, even though they've all been terraformed into machine or hive worlds.

As long as your crime is below 30, you don't need those jobs filled, so you may not actually need to fill the security jobs.

Have you tried running the game without mods?

I saw the same in my last game without mods. Normal humans also have a problem to fill the security job.

You can prioritize them, forcing people to take them.

I think you just need to click on them.
That's the problem - even when prioritised, the drones will refuse to fill those jobs. I even had a planet at 80 deviancy and the drones just absolutely refused to fill Hunter Killer jobs. I did eventually find a fix, if I force-move pops off the world then back onto it, that seems to reallocate the drones and puts them into the security role. Still, it's frustrating to have to do that.

As for mods, the only mods I am running are advisor soundpacks. Abathur's voice pack is so heckin wonderful.

It might be your mods. I played GC machines July 2022 on current patch, no mods, all DLC, and it worked fine.

What if you turn off jobs and restore them? Moving pops can be a pain but they are supposed to respond to job prioritization and keep crime low if not 0.

only 1 mod? Perhaps its a really buggy version of stellaris or something. You could try roll back and see what happens.
