A Actual Galaxy-Wide Empire?
Alright i really like this game, havent played it much, but i really like the premise of it.
However the time it takes to get into requires MANY hourse to get beyond just a few systems. I was wondering if there was a mod that allows a start off as a Galaxy-Wide Empire, instead of just in one system?

I mean something similar to an Imperium of Man, where they dont own the entire galaxy, but a large part of it. Then you basically have to survive onslaughts of other factions and races to eventually take over the galaxy.

Play it on smaller map size. It's possible to take over half of the galaxy in 10 hours on medium size galaxy. If you play aggressive collectivist slaver. A bad guy as some says. Too bad that usually good guy path is easier, but not here. In this game bad guy wins a thousand fold unless you play 1v1.

Appreciate the advice.

That might actually make for a pretty badass scenario. Take something like the 1k stars 4 arm spiral galaxy, populate one arm with the player empire and the other three with empires themed after iconic WH40K races.

Enable all three crises and make the androids into Necrons, the unbidden into the Eldar and the Scourge into the Tyranid and then just let them all go nuts on each other. :D

Well i was thinking of the Imperium being abit bigger than just one arm. As the Imperium would be in control of roughly 3/5ths the galaxy, if not 3/4ths.

Yeah, the problem with that is that you'd have to disable the victory conditions. I thought making it 1/4th will give you plenty of time to actually enjoy fighting it out with the massive resource base 250 stars will give you, while having enough stuff that isn't yours so the other 3 to 7 factions can duke it out among themselves as well, so you might get to see some epic campaigns going on. ^^

Well if its a mod, you can just change the victory conditions.

So you would be looking more for a survival scenario than a conquest one, right?

One where you already own most of the real estate and have to fight to keep the planets and make sure the filthy xenos don't taint them, rather than having to go out conquering. Or at least having to juggle how much to keep in defense and how much to send out to stamp our pirates / orc nests, etc. tt.

That could also be fun. Especially if they managed to make something like "chaos/orc/tyranid taint" that would force you to exterminatus any planet that has been sieged by the enemy, leading to a scorched earth kind of gameplay where any system you lose is mostly toast.

PRECISELY!

I could see that being pretty fun. Might be even better with a static research tree though, as you could then make strategic decisions about whether you want the battleships or bigger, nastier military stations. Or maybe elite mechanised units for your ground troops to hold off the WAAAAGH so your fleet can arrive?

Possibilities. o.o

If Stellaris is like R2TW, then i think this guy wants Attila TW. Probably not a bad shout, although in this case it's basically skipping 200 years to where you have an empire and the Prethoryn appear.
Try the Fermi Paradox or Fermi Paradox forerunner mod. That might be something. The first means you are completely alone, the second means other empires will spawn from primitives after a while.
