Is the New DLC worth having, also whats up with portaits?

So I load up an old save from a month or so ago, and I notice theres a new DLC. I figure I'll look into it later, but then I notice my President looks different.
I go look through the human portraits and... theres no white people. Male or Female... like... what?

Okay so as I'm writing this I found that apparently they brought the old one in as a second option. But... is there an option to turn the new one off? Tbh they look kinda weird. And while I'm sure theres gonna be some claims about isms or whatever it def makes me uncomfortable to know that paradox legit added a HUMAN portait set with intent to replace the old and had every race but chose to leave white people out. That sounds like more than an oversight and I want -ism out of my game. is it possible to get rid of the new ones but still keep the current version of the game or should I just build a death star whenever i see them in game?

As for the DLC, its at 50%. Just how bad ARE the rebellions? I keep hearing that that and bugs are the main issues. Bugs will probably get fixed pretty quickly, but are rebellions game breaking or are they something thats just gonna be a looming threat? Personally I like the idea of rebellions. It means you have to pay attention to your planets more carefully and pay more attention to the needs of your aliens/humans. so if its not as bad as it sounds im down for it, but if one rebellion just leads to another and my empire gets yeeted from a simple mistake I dont think Im down to play.

They said that they will bring back old portraits with next patch.

They removed them because of "woke" agenda but got so much backlash in forums and here on steam that theyre basically forced to bring them back.

And as i said they allready announced they willl reintroduce ALL of the old portraits with next patch.

allright i confirm: the old protraits ALLREADY are back in the game - u can pick and customize them in empire creation.

I was really excited for the dlc but the vassal system seems abit underwhelming. If you are starved for content, go for it. I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the portraits.

This is true, but unfortunately is only the case if you choose said portraits for your own empire. Random generated humans use the new ones

Pretty sure the devs wanted more options themselves after trying their own product and added back in. But go on saying it was forum response like a conspiracy theorist.

It's not a DLC thing, the free update messed those up.

It got better, they aren't as inevitable now.

But I still think the unintended rebellion mechanics should have stayed, to mix it up.
