I found the L-gate crisis thing to be way way easier than the other ones. Didn't even realise it was was a crisis.
It's a crisis depending how early in your game you were able to access the L-gate. A lot of users complained on reddit about how opening the L-gate erradicated their entire galaxy and empire. The developer did something to nerf how quickly people could research the L-gates, but I haven't tested if it was enough.
