Outside context achievement

So I found Sol in the Machine age, but they seem to have no armies.
Do I need to wait till a world war II event? Or can I just invade for the achievment?

imo: they need a world war, not sure it has to be the Second.
But with an obsrervation post you may trigger a world war

yupe
works several times for me with different pre-FTL aliens , But just in case: a science ship should be ready.
But I don't know, if it works. I never found a pre-FTL Sol, Not even my Borg-Version.

Well I currently have an observation post with 5 armies in orbit waiting for when it's time.

Some of these heavy RNG based achievements are tedious as flip, took me so many playthroughs just to get a closeby Sol with humans in the machine age.
Just hope something won't cause it to fail.

Are you able to copy your save file? I would suggest you invade machine age Sol right away. If you don't get the achievement, replace your save and continue on. With RNG achievements like this, it's always a good idea to make multiple save copies in case you muck it up.

There is risk in waiting as well.

Strange how it didn't have any of the specially named defence armies though.
