BECOME THE CRISIS questions! When can the world give up and peace out? etc.
Hello. I chose "become the crisis" perk because my friends told me I could get most of the benefits without going total war on the entire galaxy. They said the total war only starts when I hit crisis level 5 but I never did the research necessary to get to 5, I only unlocked the 5th stage months after they started the war.

Well in my playthrough it started at level 3 or 4 out of nowhere, with the international community labeling me as a crisis and everyone declaring war on me. I am far too underpowered to take them all off but I've been trying to defend myself as long as possible because I was told that at some point they might give up and peace out, which is preferable over losing the entire game.

they begin to be hostile to you when you take become the crisis

become the crisis is more suited for fanatic purifier, because the nice bonus for spaceship shoting, so you try to build army early and try to blitzkrieg them to farm crisis point and unlock star eater and get crisis bonus in your war

so yes you have to research crisis when you get requisition and get buff to fight your war

so become the crisis is for very agressive gameplay

The Galactic Community can vote to declare you a Crisis at any Menace level, it's just automatic at level 5. There is no way for a Crisis war to end unless the community votes to end it, and they have no reason to do so. Your only hope now is to rush to Menace 5, and destroy the galaxy.

It's easier to deal with the galactic community if you rush and vassalize a chunk of it so they can't vote to declare total war against you.

Then you use your diplomacy to place as many +fleet power diplomatic bonus's you can further cementing your lead.

The ideal thing to happen is to be within the top 3 powers of the galactic community because the the modifier +approval modifier that makes the community want to vote up galactic council/custodian.
In my games they will vote yes on ANY member of the council becoming custodian even if that council member is also the crisis. Meaning you become the swing vote to decide who becomes custodian.
