Shift-Queueing Survey Orders?
So after playing Stellaris for over 2500 hours, i got the hint that you can conveniently queue survey orders by clicking on the Survey button, then hold down Shift and simply left-click on systems you want surveyed... Instead of shift-right-clicking and using the submenu (explore/survey) for each system.

However, i often find that my ships now skip systems, explore in the wrong order, or end up in an unsurveyed system. Where the old method let them do exactly as ordered.

Any idea about this? Doing something wrong, or the feature doesn't work as intended?

You must be releasing the shift key briefly, never had that problem. You can also ctrl+shift (i think, its muscle memory now, may be alt) to insert an order before the queue.

Might not be the cause of the issue you're experiencing, but if you click the icon, hold shift, click a bunch of systems, and release shift, the game will still be in "select mode". If you click another system afterwards, even AFTER already having deselected the science ship (noticeable by the button still being highlighted), it will override all orders you had given and make the ship go right to that system.

To avoid this bug, you have to get out of "select mode", which you can for example do by hitting escape to deselect the ship directly (just deselecting by clicking somewhere does not work), or clicking another button in the ship UI.

there is a buttin on science ships you can tick that sets then to survey so then all you need to do is hold shift and click without having to manually tell them to survey that system every time. I am not talking about autosurvey I mean there is like a spacific button you can tick for normal surveying but it will keep you from having to select "survey system' for every system and instead you just qu up all the systems you want.

Ah yeah i think that may be causing it. Gonna check if it still happens with ESC-ing after setting orders

Yep that's what i was using and had the described issues (which never happened with the right-click method)
