Growing Like Weeds achievement - how long to take effect?
So I set up an Idyllic Bloom, budding plantoid species just to get this achievement. I've been able to get the organic growth (only) over 10 a few times, but typically only for a 'week' of game time before it drops down to the high 9.x range. I haven't had the achievement trigger yet. Anyone know how long you have to hold it over 10 to get this?

Idyllic Bloom won't really help, IIRC, though you need it for the Fixer Upper achievement. I would suggest double checking a few things: see if you're on ironman, of course. make sure you haven't got it already (i've noticed you don't always get the pop up when you get an achievement). Lastly, try to get the bonus on a monthly tick. I'm not sure about that last one, but anecdotally it helps with tricky achievements that won't trigger.

Double checked everything - definitely in Iron Man with achievements enabled, no mods.
I'll keep plugging at it.

The only other things I can think of to make sure you're going after pop assembly and not pop speed, and just, you know, have a nest planet absolutely filled to the brim with pops so that budding reaches its full potential.

Mine popped pretty much when I got the numbers, maybe start of the next month, but wasn't a long wait at all. I did read some where that its the base number on organic assembly that needs to be 10 any % modifiers (permutation chambers) don't count toward the 10. Maybe someone else can confirm/deny that? I got mine with splinter hive vassal buildings, they got rather abusive later on... 24+ organic assembly on capital hive with only 3 holdings, permutation chambers, lg pop size, cloning vats... fun

OK, so what am I doing wrong?!?

And to prove the species is budding:

Let me guess - immigration doesn't count towards "organic growth" ?

I havent messed with that orgian much, if you can build it on a ring world it will DEFINITLY trigger do to how many pops can live there.

The picture of my capital is on a ring world, and it shows 16.15 pop growth - still no achievement.

Here's another screenshot after I messed with genetics some more:

Here the growth rate is 10.35 with zero immigration - and still no achievement. >:(

do you have steam cloud enabled? I think that's required for achevements. I MAY be wrong on that. otherwise check your games files for errors. if you don't know how I can help with that.

Well, definitely in Ironman and have Steam cloud saved enabled:

You need 10+ organic pop. ASSEMBLY, not growth. The assembly from budding/cloning vats/spawning pools/splinter hive links, etc. Check the assembly box to the right of the growth box that you show in your screen shots.

This is why screen shots can be really helpful, thx to OP for providing.

Well, drats! You are right! I've been focusing on the wrong thing all along!

Not sure how to get that particular aspect improved any greater than it is, though.

What really got my numbers way up there was the splinter hive links and mutagenic Permutation pools. the pools will give +60% to your base number. Haven't done the math but pretty sure your going to need to use at least one of these 2.

10 growth per month = 0.02 x 500
You need 500 pops on one planet if you don't use buildings that increase build speed.

Heavy slaving and livestock setup will be needed with planet converted to eccumonopolis. You'll only have to do it once. I recommend using syncretic evolution origin combined with both species being budding. That way both species add speed.

Also recommending you pick up traits that reduce pop move costs. That way can move pops to capital for cheap.

You can also use sacrificial style empire build to get rid of other empires pops if you have to but not necessary.

So I have built everything I can that increases population growth:

Yet my growth rate is still just under 10:

Guess I need to grab a lot of unemployment here to have enough people.

So looking around the interwebs, seems folks are talking about splinter hive vassals.

How do you create those? I have colonize some planets far away in order to set them free, but the "Create Vassal" button just says "There is no population in this sector that can be released as a vassal."
