Oh boy... wtf did I do now?

So I found an "Alien machine" and pulled the lever instead of disassempling it. All I know is that a wormhole opened up and I find taht very unsettling especially as my civilization could be pissed on sideways and get killed.

What disaster did I create now? lol

It's just a standard wormhole to a random system in the galaxy, I believe. As far as I know, there isn't anything further in that chain.
