Can you find anomalies while auto surveying?
I love the new auto survey feature but.. I find myself not really using it since it seems I don't find any anomalies while I auto survey. Can anyone confirm, that they have found any while on auto?

You can only find anomalies on systems that haven't been surveyed by anyone else, so that might explain that.

No, these are unexplored systems..

Because I tested it out with very few other empires and it was an area where only I had access

I believe this is false. There is no such thing as 100% chance of finding anomalies, else the bonus from 'Chart the stars" policy or scientist with extra chance of finding anomalies would be pointless. Also saw more than once anomalies not researched by me (due to difficulty) not being researched by AI.

Unless they actually give a 10% chance of finding an anomaly where there would be none. This is actually a better question for the official forums, as developers don´t answer here.

Of course there is no such thing as 100% chance of finding anomalies, then you'd find one at every stellar object. There is a fixed chance which can be increased, lets say 7%, off an anomaly being on a stellar body that is being surveyed if no other empire has surveyed it. Otherwise, no chance. AFAIK its like with Precursor remains that they remain there only for you once you hvae gotten them.

Thank you, all I wanted to know :)

Does anyone know what logic the auto-explore uses to pick systems to explore next? I set 4 science ships to auto-explore. After 20 or 30 in-game years not a single one had found an anomaly. As soon as I gave up and went back to micromanaging where they explored, I found 5 or 6 anomalies almost immediately. If you can only find anomalies on systems that have not been surveyed by other empires yet, it's pretty infuriating if your auto-explore ships only survey inside other empires' borders...

I have played another game today and I have now found plenty, even while auto-exploring. So I'm guessing sometimes it's just down to luck.. or lack there of.
