Do events from dismantling abandoned terraforming equipment stop?

It's been a while since I've dismantled it, usually I just let it resume and suffer the consequences (mutants etc). In my latest Doomsday game, however, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get terrestrial sculpting at the very start of the game (first colony in a nearby system triggered it).

The negative modifier to food and happiness was removed, which I guess is a new change and the main reason I never dismantled it in the past. So far I've had droughts that cost energy credits and devastation from storms. Are these events part of a scripted chain that gets worse with a climatic conclusion, or will these things keep periodically occurring for the rest of the game? The wiki doesn't provide much info.

looks like those are the only two events from dismantling according to the wiki. doesn't say if they can repeat or not
