Frontier planet not joining sector
I have 2 planets that are 2 hops away from each other. Surprisingly, creating a sector from one of them resulted in 2nd planet still being "frontier". Deleting the sector and recreating it from either planet didn't help.

Any ideas?

do you own all hops in between?
are the hops in between part of another sector?
have you tried making the other planet the sector capital?

usually my solution to this problem is to just add a hyperlane.

Yes I own all (exactly 1) hops in between. They are not part of any sector. Yes I've tried creating sector from either of the planets, it doesn't work.

"Add a hyperlane" HOW?

If there's a second system that also connects both systems, isn't owned by you, but deemed to be the faster connection by the game, then that can cause the sector to not form properly.

easiest with a mod.

it's just dumb that you cant manually add/remove systems from sectors anymore, especially in cases like this. i'd rather cheat abit than be frustrated by it.

Yeah i've understood the 4 jump rule for balance, but not that we can't create small sectors or add remove planets from any sector in range. It makes creating a sector vassal a fiddly rather than simple action for example.

I found the reason. The "hop" node between those 2 problematic systems was, it seems, sort of 'tagged' by another sector. There is no planet there, but the system itself is 4th hop from another sector; it looks like the game would refuse to use such hop as a valid "connection" when creating new sector.

The only sense this makes is: the game STILL has AWFUL sector management UI.

I expect from any communication tool in 2022 to be able to just copy and paste image while writing message. If it fails at it - not my problem, sorry.

Steam is asking way too much money for it's 20 years old "service"

It is your problem though. You're reporting an issue, a screenshot is what could allow others to figure out what's going on, you're refusing to provide a screenshot because of petty reasons, so the chances of your issue being solved go down dramatically.

You're pretty much just punching yourself in the face.

Maybe people should start reading. I've explained the issue completely in the original post. I've updated it with information on WHY the issue happened: game's poor design.

Neither of this required screenshoting.

The internet is already plagued by "guides" that are pretty much half an hour of youtube video with person talking nonsense. Grow up and learn to express yourself rationally.
