Stutter Due to In-Game Music Still an Issue..
So I have been checking in on and off for a couple years since I picked this up. One thing I always hated is how the in-game music playing would cause a stutter while panning camera every second or so. This apparently is STILL the case years later. I've tried this on two separate computer setups well above recommended specs. I'm not sure why this is still a thing.

And I know this has been reported here and on the official forums. I don't see it mentioned often, though. Anyone else still have this issue?

I think I had a problem like that a couple years ago. I seem to recall that one of the volume settings was turned down really low but the game sound itself was turned really high on my computer settings.

I would recommend adjusting the volume to be higher in the game settings and if you dont want sound then turn it low from your computer settings.

Hope this helps!

Yes, pausing the music makes the stutter stop and
Spacebattles look smooth again.
kinda sad because i love this Game's music..

The only way to have the music without stuttering is to play the music from the soundtrack in the steam player outside the game while you play.

I actually just read on a bug report in the official forums that they are now finally aware of this issue and are planning to fix it in the next patch or so.

I can't seem to replicate this, I would suggest making sure and double checking all your drivers are up to date.

For anyone still having this issue: I fixed it for myself by installing the mod from nexus called "Music Player Stutter Fix"

yeah it was in the patch notes that this issue was fixed so no mod is needed. I reported the issue two and half years ago and always played the music externally. No issues since 3.7.
