My ships won't use the hyperlane they are on top of
Pathfinding has gone ******ed

I tell my ships to go from system A, hyperlane, to system B but instead they go from A, hyperlane, to system C then gate to B.

The ships are literally on top of the A-B hyperlane entrance and I am telling them to essentially take one step into the other system. Instead, they take a short walk to the A-C hyperlane, then go across nearly the whole of System C to use the gate to get to B, and then fly across nearly the whole of system B to arrive at the other side of the A-B hyperlane.

There is no way that's faster.

Are you at war and A is an enemy system with a red magnet icon at top left?

No, but the crisis is happening, and I was trying to enter a system with a hostile crisis fleet (x25).

I had 8 or 9 fleets of warships.

Gates can connect with each other weird. Is that the answer your looking for?

That was probably the fastest way.
It could also a any number of other reasons.

If you ordered to specifically attack an enemy fleet then pathfinding tries to move your fleet into the same position as the enemy fleet which may indeed be closer (gate is instant, both paths use 1 hyperlane, so the only difference is distance inside systems)

Except my ships still took a hyperlane, then a gate and flew 50 miles instead of taking 1 hyperlane and 1/2 mile of flying distance.

Might there be an ftl inhibitor in the system you were in?

I had a situation where I wanted my fleet to move one system over and instead of taking the hyperlane it instead went through a gateway to Terminal Egress, took an L-gate to a system that was also one jump away from the destination and took that hyperlane. There is definitely something not quite right.

There is, and I own it, furthermore, I own the 3 colonize ring world segments in the system. In fact, I am the one who restored those segments, colonized them, and have own them without interruption.

BTW, it's happening again. And again it's in this ring world gated system. I am trying to move my fleet one system over. System B is owned by Federation mate, who has possession of both the system and its planet. No enemy is in the system.

Instead of going one system over directly, my war fleet wants to go a gated system owned by the Unbidden, then fly about 40 miles instead of flying 10. And an Unbidden fleet is right now in hyperspace heading to that gated system.

3.3 did have some changes made to pathfinding, and this seems like it might be an unintended consequence of those. Please submit a bug report[forum.paradoxplaza.com] so our devs can take a look at this.

Thanks!
