1. update (with lost of bugs, obviously)
2. quickfix a week later (patching few, most critical things)
3. fix a motnh later (fixing most annoying bugs)
Everythign that was not patched, ususally, was left in backlog, making game accumulate technical debt all the way until 2.2...
3.2, not 2,2
Not the only things that were "done wrong" under previous leadership either but yes, they love to barely fix anything before jumping into the next expansion and breaking more...
Maybe for EU4, but that's not the case for Stellaris, Stellaris is more like *imrpove something* *community complains that it's broken and saying Stellaris is dying every update.*
This "Forum-Community-Manager"-girl announced a new code-of-conduct in the Paradox-Forum in order to maintain a pretty "tolerant" safe-space for them.
So, don't expect voices that scream towards Stellaris-II since there will just remain guys and girls that will observe NO real problems with Stellaris-I. I mean, unless the DLC-Diarrhea becomes that unprofitable and therefore stagnant that it's "finally" time for round II, Stellaris-II and to re-invent this wheel again.
Criticism in general is welcomed. It's preferred that that criticism is constructive. People who are constantly spewing toxicity/attacking other users/developers will be banned from the Steam Community Hub as well.
My goal is to make *this* a safe enough space that the developers feel comfortable coming here to engage with the community as well.
Please keep threads on-topic. We're here to talk about *checks notes* how the devs are breaking the game to pave the way for Stellaris II.
Such broken leads into the word working and that ones definition is that which is functioning or able to function.
And that leads into the idea of function which is still able to perform its purpose. This requires understand why a game is.
A game does not need to be fun, since entertainment simply means it catches your attention. It can give you negative emotions and be addictive. Similar to gambling. Though normally tourism industry will try to advertise the positive aspects of. Its just enough to distract from your work life enough that it counts as an off work something. Or school if your younger.
Such that as to a definitive answer against the op's thread, the game is not broken or being broken. And since it is not in an absolute state of broken it is working and generation revenue to some degree lmao. After all you can go back versions so even if theoretically the latest version is broken not all the versions are broken.
And if it was true they were making stellaris 2, if they were to mess up that bad breaking stellaris 1 they would also end up breaking stellaris 2 resulting in a dlc cash grab, stellaris 2 buy in cash grab, and stellaris 2 dlc cashgrab. Only to end up making stellaris 3 down the road.
Apparently money doesn't grow in trees ! It precipitates from the sky ! Everyone get your baskets ready lol
"Toxic" people that "attack" Paradoxians have payed a zillion of bucks into their games and DLCs, so their natural interest is to force Paradox to forge Stellaris into something great.
Besides the fact that people don't pay a zillion of bucks into Paradox-games and Paradox-DLCs just for being "toxic" trolls, I have a big problem with dudes that tell me something along the line that people are just sooo "toxic" for the sake of it, so whether Paradoxians feel beloved, comfortable, stressed or hatred along this ride is just a side-effect in which state the game is at the respective moment and this new "code-of-conduct" draws a pretty bad image in that regard.
As a personal note:
I would feel pretty offended myself that Paradoxians assume that I'm that thin-skinned that I have to be "protected" by such a "code-of-conduct".
But sure, go ahead:
Safe-Space in the Paradox-Forum, Safe-Space in Steam and safe-spaces everywhere. Everything is fine. The new DLC ("Overlord") is announced. No need for Stellaris-II.
