What am I missing?

I bought this game 3 years ago and never got into it. I saw good reviews about 2.2 so came back and I am enjoying the hell out of the game. I have been playing over and over to learn how to play and have a pretty good knowledge now.

One thing that I have yet to figure out is nano drones. I get the tech and a building to make them but that building requires 200 nano drones to make. So how do you start to make the drones to be able to make the buildings to make more drones?

Do you mean nanites? You can only get nanites from the L cluster and any buildings you research about nanites should be for consuming nanites to create other things. NOT to make more nanites as that would be broken for creating free strategic resources.

Nanites come from the L-Cluster, which is DLC content

if you want to save some money, start of june we should see pop up summersales on most shops. Steam itself probably end of june.

If you own the DLC (I am unsure if the defcribed tech pops up in basegame without the DLC or is also DLC content), you might wanna focus on opening and claiming the L-Cluster for yourself. But be careful, because who knows what might be hidden in that starcluster.
