you can probably do a status quo peace and get parts of your objectives.
And you can't take the planet by status quo if you can't successfully invade it.
And you can always spend a dozen years bombing it.
Even if you're the one who gets 100% exhaustion and they force status quo, you keep the planet as long as they don't retake it.
They were Mega Warframes, but still...
Well, the war goal is to claim the only system they have. My only fear is that by the time I take 2 planets worth like 10-15k army strength altogether, I lose so many armies, that my war attrition gets so high that the enemy might force a status quo peace on me.
What He said. In total war the enemy will never have Up, as it would meant the end of the Empire. But you can have What you conquer after Status quo, even when IT IS forced. Get your troops and Generals in shape, or do they want to live forever?
only their homeworlds have super strong armies. if you have claims on their whole territory, you can often get to the force victory requirements without invading any of the strong planets, or at least without having to invade all the strong planets.
ah yeah if theyve only have 1 system left at the start of the war you gotto bite the bullet and commit a large number of armies and/or bombard a while first.
i recommend you do it though, before they decide to get angry about it.
