If for example we would go Warhammer Highelves or their 40k counterpart: Eldar
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Eldar
I would have a specific traitset in mind to fit them.

But if you have some rather utopian dream about space elves...
I would at least mix in Spirtualist, because those knife eared pieces of ♥♥♥♥ are always about worshipping something and telling everyone how superior their [vulcan] mindset makes them. And it also sets you on the psionic path, which probably will fit best.
Depending on your pov the next one could be egalitarian, xenophile, xenophobe or military. Or instead of picking three you could rather flesh out one to fanatical.
Traits again, it's what you want to build. Venerable can work but it is costly. Enduring early on might help better and later if you have bioengineering you could still upgrade your dna to venerable instead.
The key thing about high elves is there believe that they are the best.
They always seem to have a king or queen they worship and are full of noble houses.
Said noble also have there own armies so.... There a feudal Society.
I would suggest that roleplaywise any none elf is either a slave or second class citizion.
Veneralble and slow breeder are a must.
There not elves if they dont live long and breed slowly.
But roleplay-wise, yes, it makes sense.
You can counter it by increase food in policy's.
10% counter eatchother + many research to increase pop growth + multiple spieces to intergrate into your empire.
Unless you refuse to have servant race's the lack of pop growth wont effect you at all.
Oh, that's right.
In the off chance you are still playing Stellaris, what mod has the left side portrait in the 2nd link?
