Corporation question
What are the implications of an alien (and an unfriendly one at that) installing a corporation on your capital? Along with that I got a casus belli for "expropriation". What did they expropriate and can that be reverted or prevented? Is there a way to kick them out, and do i want to do it?
They are also building a smuggler's port. Implications? Can I prevent?

What? Nah, they can't take your planet via branch offices. Worse that could happen is your planet revolt.

3) take a crime lord deal and ignore the whole thing entirely.
Boom. Problem fixed. You can sleep soundly.

Criminal heritage is one of the most lackluster civic you can find. And weakest. Many ways to go around it, if you don't make any trade value, they don't gain anything. WHICH CRIME REDUCES BY THE WAY.
It might be a slight to mild annoyance but they're pathetic.

All they do is settle awful sweatshops that hardly benefit themselves.. and voila. They usually close down within a few years because enforcer stronk.

Yep, there was that third option but OP asked about getting rid of branch offices, but yeah, there's the third option.

Well after understanding the implications, I don't see why I would want the Corporations thing unless I'm going to play as one. Even if manageable or tolerable, it brings nothing positive to my game and only negative. When I bought the Corporations DLC I imagined it would be some kind of supranational power, that anyone could set up corporations in their empire, that it would be another thing that you can do and that would give you some kind of benefit. But it turns out that it only works if you choose to be a corporate civilization. For anyone else the only net effect is having a mafia corp rape inserted into your capital. It might be manageable but it is an annoyance and presents disadvantages even if they can be seen as "minor". Like having to devote one or two building slots to enforcers which could be occupied by labs or autocton monuments or anything else more useful.
It's also kind of silly that you can do nothing against them either preventative or curative, only the passive measure of increasing the police and wish that they go away of their own will. Even if your government is autocratic or monarchic or anything else that can do things "because I say so".

It's beneficial if it's a friendly megacorp.
And the most immediate cure is the wargoal you're given when you get the criminal offices.

Well, perhaps. I've only seen mafia so far. And the enemy is usually on the other side of the galaxy, out of reach.
