auto pick research option
so, there is an option that picks the research automaticly.
anyone knows how the reearch with that option is picked?

It is likely random choice of the technologies present.

Not a good idea early game, might be something you do late game. Though even then you might want to focus more on ship, energy and mineral repeatables.

As far as I know, it just reuses the AI weights, which means mostly random with some priorities on generally important techs.

You should essentially never use it if you care about being even somewhat efficient. While you're still in the normal tech tree, picking the right techs is too important for your progress, and later on, focusing on a few strong repeatables is equally important for your overall power gain.

A major part of the game, for me at least, is steering the flow of technology in an empire. I wouldn't recommend ignoring that aspect of the game... BUT you could always just pick the cheapest tech to randomize and no-brain it.
