Free the Science Ship mission

I have a mission where one of my science ships is trapped in a storm around a gas giant. It cannot get out on its own and needs another science ship present in order to free it. The problem is, even with 2 other science ships in the system, I cannot select the mission to start it, with either the trapped science ship, or the science ships I sent to help free it. Is this a bug, or am I overlooking something obvious?

Nevermind, I solved it, I needed to have 2 different science ships orbiting the planet with the trapped ship, not just have them in the same system.
