Found Living Metal - Tech option missing?
So i got a living metal deposit 2 clicks from my capital, but the research option is missing by the year 2285.

Any idea how to get it now?

Only preqs listed are "offworld construction" and discovering it; the tech is a core tech you get from the start, and obviously i already discovered it some years after game start.

It's a bug. I used a console command to unlock the research, it seemed to be the only way to do it.

It's a tier 5 tech though. The only "specific tech" prereq is offworld construction, but it requires a lot of other engineering techs before it can show up.

Normally you get the tech added permanently to your engineering deck once you discover it from an anomaly, and every additional deposit should add 25% progress or so.

I also do have mega-engineering already, just hoping to get it from the L-Cluster by now. Using the console is not an option due to Ironman.

Living Metal won't show up as a natural tech option. Your only bet is to find another deposit with an event that actually unlocks the tech option. Without that, you're out of luck.

Has already been reported, but I think there was no official acknowledgement yet.

You can also steal the tech from fallen empire if you have the psionic ascension perk and do the void thing but its much rarer than psi jumpdrive and co.

Wait you're saying that I don't have bad luck?

Ah yeah, that was my current theory as well. I guess the question is solved for now, thanks.
