How do you flood an ocean? wait, is it a flood of land.

EDIT: I was mistaken, flooded habitats are a thing.

"Flooded Habitats" aren't a thing.

A habitat is a habitat, they are never counted as a ocean world.

3.3 patch notes.

The Hydrocentric Ascension Perk now allows empires to flood habitats, making them suitable for Aquatic species.

Ahh nevermind me then.

Is that penalty applying to your aquatic race or do you have some non-aquatic pops as well.

It is being applied to my aquatic race as it is the only species in my empire.

Shouldn't it still be a (now considered "wet") Habitat, not an Ocean Planet, though?
Aquatic specifically boosts Ocean Planet habitability, while degrading non-wet habitability.

Not according to the tool tips.

Sounds like a new bug. Show of hands is anyone surprised paradox messed up something basic.
AurumHawke Feb 25, 2022 @ 5:20pm
According to the breakdown you posted, yeah, the tooltip slightly misstates how it works - it is using the Habitat habitability base but you are getting the Aquatic Ocean bonus.
So the flooding modifier itself contains negative habitability, which... seems odd since it's really just replacing the non-wet habitability negative.

I don't think this is a bug.

Habitats have base 70% not 80%

if they are not flooded then you would be getting 50%

if they are flooding then it cancels the -20% and brings it back to 70% the same as everyone else.

You need to take the habitat ascension perk to get them to 90%

only void dwellers get 100% habitability on habitats

That's exactly what's happening. You might have filled it with salt water, but it's still a habitat and not an ocean planet.

just discovered this issue except my habitats started with a base habitability of 30% and once I flooded they went up to 50%. Still renders them worthless to use
