I have the vanilla version of the game that has been updated to version 2.1.3. When watching a video on the Utopia update, I noticed a lot of its features are in my game. Is there anything Utopia has my vanilla doesn't have?

As far as i understood it: Yes, you could build/repair some Megastructures, but for Habitats or Multi-Stage-Structures you would still needed the correct DLC (Utopia or Megacorp) for example

You shouldn't have the ascension paths, building megastructures and the hive mind authority.

I am not sure, but the first dlc i bought was Distant Stars and I had the ascensions paths from the beginning. And for the mega-structures imo: if you posses Megacorp but not Utopia, then you could simply build only the ones of Megacorp,

Yes, you'd still have access to the megacorps megastructures, just not utopia's.
As for the ascension paths: you had synthetic ascension, genetic ascension or psionic ascension without utopia?

Wait until the patch this week and see how the game runs for people before buying dlc, imo. Utopia is a must have imo.

yes, don't know, don't know. The last two i never checked. And the first one maybe from Synthetic Dawn?

Strange, synthetic dawn doesn't affect synthetic ascension, just adds the machine empires and AI rebellion. Do you have utopia now?

I don't think you need synthetic dawn to have ai rebellion to happen.

The AI rebellion requires that tech too since it's triggered by enslaving synths, but synths themselves are part of the base game while the rebellion requires the DLC.

yes, I posses Utopia now, this is the reason, why I can't checked anymore what activate the synthetic ascension.
Or can I deactivate a DLC? Never checked this, imo a DLC has to be active, otherwise I shouldn't buy it.

You can deactivate DLCs in the launcher if you want, for whatever reason.
Were you playing in Multiplayer by any chance? If not, either you're confusing something or it was just a weird bug.
