Sic Semper Tyrannis, how to get?
Someone else was just nominated as Custodian, so I figured it's a good opportunity to get "Sic Semper Tyrannis". The guy is weak and right next to me, I can kill him no problem. But will that count for the achievement...?

Please help!

no, there should be Operation or something in espionage i think, but i know it's more than just killing him

Hmm. I only see the normal options in my spy network for the Custodian.
Razorblade Apr 24, 2021 @ 11:34pm
No. For one, a Custodian is not an Emperor. Secondly, just conquering the Emperor is not a "Rebellion." Launching the rebellion requires using the "Spark Rebellion" espionage operation when the empire has less than 50 imperial authority.
Fabiaville Apr 24, 2021 @ 11:38pm
ofc you first need to get the imperium proclaimed and then send your envoys to undermine imperial authority. when 50 or below you can do the operation and likely get the achievement.

Oh, the issue then is that I don't have an emperor, I only have a custodian. Thanks!

Is there a way to nominate the guy to be Emperor, so I can tear him down later for the achievement??

1. Load the game in multiplayer, log in as a custodian AI empire
2. Nominate AI
3. Load the game in multiplayer as your own empire, exit to autosave
4. Load the game in singleplayer, elect the emperor and overthrow him
5. Profit

This is possible with a single player Ironman game? I have 9800 hours into Stellaris and never knew this.

If you don't use this option, are there any specific empire types that are more likely to request Custodianship / Emperor?

I've played through 6 games so far (under 3.0) and obtained all but 2 achievements: Sic Semper Tyrannis and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Blorg. In 4 complete games I just cannot get anyone else to be Custodian.

bjamminloe, I had to hack the game file to get the spy thing. It's bugged so that even if you do all 11 spy mission types, you don't get it. I don't consider this to be cheating in this instance, as I am correcting a bug.
As for the multiplayer thing, it's super easy to do, I learned about it in this thread too. If you're nervous, just copy your game folder to desktop so that if you break it, you can just copy it back. But you won't break it. You can consider this to be cheating.
If you have a problem with cheating or 'cheating', though, I don't know what AI personalities are more likely to push for galactic...
The only custodian I saw had his term end on him during his vote to not have a term limit =/

Yes how else would you get Sic Semper Tyrannis achievement if it isn't ironman?

Can you expand on this. Ive never done multiplayer. When you say load a game onto multiplayer is this a new game? Are you loading in a previous save file from single player? Or are you playing a multiplayer game by yourself and adding AI?

Im not understanding step 1.

For step 2 Do you then play the game until you are able to form the galactic community and nominate yourself as empire custodian. Then save and log out and then reload the game as another faction?

How do you get the save files to switch between the single player and multiplayer? Im not seeing it?

1. Play a singleplayer up to the point where you have enough diplomatic power to decide things by yourself.
2. click on multiplayer-->Host save game-->select your savegame load it now you end up in a screen where you can select an empire to play as-->click on an the AI empire that is the custodian
3. nominate the AI custodian empire for the emporer thingi wait for a month to pass=Autosave
4. repeat step 2 but this time select your own empire wait for the month to pass=autosave(if you dont do this and load the game in singleplayer you will end up playing as the Ai empire)
5. Load your game in the singleplayer like you awlways do. Go to diplomatic screen and vote in favour for the empire to become the emporer. Wait until the resolution was successful.
6. Profit

If Dynas could not understand step 1, I feel like they made literally no attempt whatsoever to figure it out for themself. Kinda wish you hadn't helped them =/
