My robot leaders are dying?
Loaded up an existing save, wanted to see what the new update had wrought. And, by and large, it wrought havoc on my empire (mainly due to having few free district slots to rebuild industry). But that's not what brings me here; I'm not going to complain about something doing what it's supposed to do.

What SHOULDN'T be happening is a whole bunch of my leaders dying off. These are immortal robot masters in their upper 400s! They've stood with me since the race evolved past its fleshly limitations. I'm not just talking one or two - there were like 6 or 7 at the point where I force-quit the game before it could do its monthly autosave.

So, did the new update do something to synths' immortality? Because I didn't see THAT in the notes.

I don't recall they being immortal in the first place, maybe they just happens to be at their dying age?

You mean save from before the 3.0 update? It's not compatible with the current version, all sorts of things may be weird.

they are but there is a chance they break down and die whcih can be reduced via a tradition

the chance of it happening normally is rare but i think gets higher the longer they are around

I always found it immersion breaking that synthetic leaders could even "die" in the first place. They should have backups of their personalities for RP purposes, something you can do a special project on to restore.

I never realized they could die of natural causes up until I read this thread.

I want to go "Woo!" in reference to the time Bender became mortal but it wouldn't be a good reference unless I explained it...

Most robo races are immortal and it's still working, maybe you should do Rule #1 from the Patchnotes and don't load old savefiles with it.

Robotic leaders can still die from accidents or simply have a critical failure.
And eventually ALL leaders will die.

Grey can technically die, but they just reform afterwards and can be rehired.

Except for a chosen one ruler as long as their empire survives and they don't do the End of the Cycle.

It's the same regardless of their age. Every 10 years the game rolls a chance for a mechanical leader to die if you have them, and it's an empire-wide roll. So what OP is describing should not be happening, and is likely a result of the new patch ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with old saves.

Losing to a fallen empire can have them execute your leader?

Yes! The first immortal Imperator of the reformed Mimicron Ascendency typically gets executed within 10 years of its reign due to the intervention of a spiritualist fallen empire. Context: I typically only play this game over the course of a month or two every year or so, and , as such, do not remember the details of fallen empire punitive war mechanic.
