The End of the Cycle
So does this just not work? It was removed from multiplayer for a time, I never understood why but just the other day I rolled the chance to get it so i figured 'oh its back in the game, im getting kinda bored lets see what happens when i unleash the beast on my friends'. Well tonight the 50 years rolled over and my empire was wiped from the map, yet no Reckoning. A bunch of shrouded manifestations spawned around but the Reckoning itself never showed up. It was such a huge let down. Does it not even work in multiplayer even though they re-added it?

sounds like its working correctly as long as you were the last one alive

I've never tried it on MP however I do know it can totally screw other players as a yolo-type superweapon. Assuming that it's back, it would probably follow the vanilla functionality:

The reckoning specifically saves the exiles for last. It will go and eat the other empires first. He's probably outside of your sensor range since your empire just got pruned and probably doesn't have something like the sentinel array. Just wait to see if your friends get hassled by a leviathan-like entity or AI empires start disappearing.

Nah, thats the thing, the reckoning didn't spawn at all. The shroud manifestations spawned but the Reckoning itself didn't. I thought it'd be fun to send it after my friends since we've never seen it.

So you're saying you had your friends look around for the reckoning and all they found were shroud manifestations? I'm personally thinking the reckoning is just trolling outside of sensor range but he might indeed still be removed from MP. Never really gotten the chance to use or see him in that gamemode since it's such a rare spawn.

Nah I'm saying I went looking for it personally. I had one friend on my left, and an AI on the right, the only way it would have been able to leave is through one of these two. I used a construction ship to gain sensor sight on whatever I couldnt see with active sensor links with my friend on the left. It was no where. the AI on the right kept pushing into what use to be my territory and even my friends from around the entire galaxy were sending construction ships specifically to start picking up zones where shroud manifestations didn't spawn. There was no Reckoning at all. After an hour I left the game to go to sleep and they kept playing for a few hours after that, the Unbidden even spawned and they fought and beat that with still no sight of the Reckoning.

The main reckoning entity is super weak and needs to be buffed by like x50 for it to be of any threat and be able to attack atleast 10 targets at once. Its name is not fitting to what it is, its not capable of killing anything atall, and its sub entities just sit idle doing nothing, they should rally on the reckoning entity and begin "ending this cycle" of the galaxy. Very disappointing.

Well actually the Reckoning CAN be super strong, it just requires you to have pops to level it up. If you dont even have 500 pops in your empire then yea, it comes in super weak. However if you somehow manage to have like over 5000 pops in your empire when the 50 years are up, then it is like super strong alone. 260,000 health, 550,000 shields, 500 shield regen per month, .72 attack speed for each weapon (has 4 weapons), and does anywhere from 1800 damage to 4200 damage per shot, and regardless of what level it has, it always has 30% evasion. So its a menace vs larger ships or ships with fewer weapons, but has the toughest time against corvettes focused highly on evasion since it only has 4 weapons.

2500 initial pop reckoning is my experience, 5000 pops isnt really possible by the time its offered to you and the 5000 pop reckoning is still extremely weak, it needs a buff, perhaps making it effected by crisis strength modifier and making the sub entities rally on the main reckoning is the easiest fix.

am I confusing the end of the cycle with the LEX mod maybe? I thought end of the cycle was the thing that just slowly destroys every system and leaves your capital for last, making you last one standing
