How to become xenophobic?
So I just found out I can stop other species growing in my empire by putting population controls on them, but I'm a couple hundred years in an my species is a minority within their own empire with at least 3 other species being larger. And to make matters worse a bunch are cybernetic where as mine are psionic.

The real problem however is I'm not allowed to purge any of them unless I'm xenophobic, sure I could just boot them out but then that gives pops to my enemies are potential enemies, a proper purge is the only responsible option, I've seen popups about other empires changing their ethics the entire playthrough so how do I do this myself? Like demote Fanatic Spiritualist to regular spiritualist and swap that point into xenophobic would be the best outcome so I can keep Militarist.

You can change your civics and government authority for a bit more than 200 influence (250?). It's a tab at the bottom of your government view (when you clik on your empire's shield/flag.
I'm not sure if you can change your ethics through this mean though.
Perhpas then, try to support your xenophobic faction and suppress the xenophile faction (but this costs influence income).

you can then spend 500 influence to embrace the faction which adds xenophobe to your government ethics (or shifts xenophobe to fanatic if you already had normal xenophobia)

Well ♥♥♥♥ I guess I'm probably losing militarist which sucks, guess I'll need to purge fast then flip back.

One last thing. You have to get in the proper mindset to be truly xenophobic. Listen to the Bull Sutton's song and then your xenophobic conversion will be complete. The song is called Xenophobia.
