Every time I see a cool game that I want to buy, but can't, because there is no controller support, and I only game with a controller (because I am an idiot scumbag, obviously), I am going to gripe at the developers and tell them to imagine how many sales they have lost.

There is a dedicated console version of the game that has a bunch of ui changes and the like to support playing a 4x title with a controller, and I think is also a fair span behind in terms of version as a result of the challenges requires to make that work. The pc version of this game is not the kind that would work well with a gamepad. Its just... not.

All you have to do is get the button. Commands from settings and apply those to a controller

I don't even want to know how terrible the GUI in Stellaris would be if it was controller-optimized, lol.

it would be just as terrible as using a mouse, since you could simply use the thumbstick to navigate and use A and B as right and left click.

The game is playable on consoles with the console edition. Not impossible, but the edition isn't up to date.
