What is the combat power of the Grand Dragon?
This guy popped up from an archaeological site I was investigating and immediately blew up my scientist then destroyed my Starport, and finally hovered over the planet I just colonized while my military was enroute. I got there thinking oh hey it shouldn't be that hard it's one guy but then he just BBQ'ed 28 corvettes I had thrown at him. Only 3 made it out and I barely dented the guy. He didn't have a combat number next to his name though. Anyone know how powerful this guy is? Obviously more than I was lol, but i'm not sure how much.

Leviathans are like 50k or something, I think.

So basically i'm not going to be able to get rid of this thing anytime soon then. Meanwhile it's just hovering over my colony. Will it just stay in the system or is it going to start roaming around?

It won't leave the system.
By the way, it'll devour the colony after some time

Does it go away after that or stay in the system? I guess I can sacrifice the colony and just resettle if needed.

It'll stay.

RIP system then lol... guess i'll leave that site alone until later next game. Going to keep playing this out I guess. Huge setback on my invasion plans. Redoing the military as I type and yeah colony is gone lol...

Forgot how fun this game is even getting smashed like that. Good times.

You get a really good relic from that archaeology site though

If you use a fleet of evasion corvettes with torpedos, I believe you can kill the dragon with less than 20-30k fleet power. Average power needed to kill him is 40-50k though.

If it's hovering over a colony you can't afford to lose, cheat, or just wait and deal with it when you're more capable.

This "event" can easily be put on hold as the dig leading up to it and releasing the dragon is always the same name, something about thieves or some ♥♥♥♥ like that. When I come across that I leave that research/digsite alone till I can deal with it then I release it and let my ships deal.

I only had like 2k fleet power as I was super early game. Have not played since before they got rid of the other warp types so i'm still getting used to the game again and I don't remember anything really lol... this guy surprised the ♥♥♥♥ outta me xD

The dragon has 32k fleet power. I know that because I used a mod where I could spawn fleets on selected planet and was curious how strong he is ^^

I left the site unexplored until i posses the strength to fight the drake!

Shard is a female dragon.
So female pronouns. :D
If you build a fleet specifically to fight her then you can probably defeat her with about 20k. She has no shields so anti-armor and anti-hull weapons only, for example.
