How to terraform
Is there more tech i need to unlock to terraform planets? So far, only mars (i play a standard united nationa of earth game) has the ability to terraform. The planner also doesnt say any other planets can terraform.

Terraforming is done on habitable planets. However you need to have ecological adaption to be able to terraform an already inhabited planet.

That is the original tech terrestial sculpting requires 6000 research the one you likely have, while the ecological adaption requires 10k. Just research a little longer and you should get it once the tech start into the 10k range. Unless you modified the research multiplier at start.

It will cost load of resource as normal. Pops happiness are affected by terraform when undergoing.

I know i can terraform my own colonies. Already got almost everything on earth like. However, i wondered how barren planets could sustain life. I found it weird why in my vast and glorious empire, Mars was the literal only planet i could terraform.

You find additional terraforming candidates as anomalies. It's kind of buggy because you seem to get like 10 in a row once the first one is found

Mars is an automatical teraforming candidate, otherwhise as Duder said you get those as anomalies, usually the game has a rather low chance for that to happen, UNTIL it runs out of unique anomalies, then there seems to be a rather small number of repeatable anomalies and you might get tons of terraform-anomalies.

(since I usually play on small maps with many AIs I usually dont get to see many anomalies, so I once started a game without AI empires, just to see more of them, I didn't get any terraforming candidates until about 2/3 of the map was scouted then I suddenly got tons of them.)
