Domestic servitude VS indentured servitude

so,ive raided a couple dozen pops from a planet,and im looking for them to be one of those 2 pops (chattal and livestock are useless due to massive food/mineral income,thralls is minimally needed due to no landings to raid). Domestic limits them to "only" the lowest class/bronze,but also enables them to work as servants for ammeneties;indentured allows both lower/bronze and middle/silver classes. they both have the same -20% happiness buff,but indent gives them a fair amount of worker's power/influence/whatever (not really a problem for me imo). my question is though,does Indentured also allow for Servant jobs? or is that Domestic-only?

im not doing cybernetics/androids at all,though i do have robot pops thanks to raiding 2 different fanatic materialists (one kinda just crappy with 3 flaws and the energy perk,the other being mildly ok mining droids). what exactly do i put them on though? i dont have any options asides from domestic protocols.

Yeah, you have to choose between domestic or indentured servitude. You can't get the benefits of both at the same time in the same species.

I recommend using indentured servitude for your bio pops and domestic protocols for your droids. You'll get the benefits of both slavery types by doing that.

thanks for the info,thinking of doing Domestic for the 2 major ones (~300 pops total: 160 of the insect tundra things, 140-ish of the farmer birbs),and indeutred for the 2 minor ones (some stupid fox thing that's just flaws and no perks with like 10 pops,and a small enclave of those rakket things on a recently-taken planet).

The requirements are Synthetics OR Sapient Combat Computers. Also, I'm almost sure that Domestic Protocols can trigger a machine uprising regardless of whether you researched either technology. I'll reinstall the game and check later.

Just don't use domestic protocols? It's better to have your robots working on useful jobs rather being wasted as Servants.

speaking of which, keep using identured servitude instead of domestic servitude (on bio pops) because servants are a waste of population. Remember you can at any time resettle your pops.

Domestic Servants are just bad. They have some small benefits, but are just REALLY inefficient in terms of "yields per pop", An entertainer produces 2.5 times the Amenities (plus 2 unity for 1 consumer good), and on most planets you'll meet your needs with one upgraded holo theatre.

You probably shouldn't use them unless you've run into serious unemployment issues or do it for RP.

Maybe. I'll test it, as I have a memory of experiencing it, and look for files if I find them.

However, it's out of the question whether you need Synthetics. You don't. Merely having Sapient Combat Computers might trigger an uprising. It's why you see people coming to this forum complain "whyyyyyy did I get a machine uprising!?, I didn't have synths or researched synthetics, let alone have any robots!!!"

It could have simply happened that Sapient Combat Computers had caused my droids to rebel, domestic protocol being merely a coincidence.

you won't get uprising if not researched "true" AI technology, no matter how much robots you have.

and bonuses from true AI is nothing compared to uprising side effects, especially if you rolled exterminator and it took half of you worlds and instantly started purging left and right.
