The adjective as in the title of the leader? If so, yes it does.

It also changes the ship naming a little, which I found very annoying, because I can freely change the name of my empire during a game, but the ship naming system I don't know how to. Ex: Let's say your ships are named HMS shipname, because you set it like that at creation. Now your empire name is republic of player. Suddenly all your new ships start being named RPS shipname! And the only way to change it, that I know of at least, is manually changing the name of each ship. =/

I was meaning adjective as in referring to your empire - eg. Hurodrikian. But if ship names are changed, possible the empire adjective was too. And yes - ship name changes are annoying.
