Can't leave federation!

It's just gamebreaker, button is inactive, i can't do a thing. Any suggestions?

just a heads up i also cant leave a federation with a fallen empire as a member. i will head over to the bug forums and report it.

Similar problem. playing multiplayer and in a federation with one other human player and a few AIs, currently when I click leave federation the other human player, who formed the federation and is the current president, leaves instead.

If you open a dialogue with the current president/empire, do you see the leave federation button then? that's what I had to do.

click on any one of the members In your alliance to communicate with them and there is an option on them for leaving the alliance !

yea it's stupid but that's how you leave currently.

Not a fallen member it has to be normal Ai member.

I had the same problem and got out of the fededation by inviting someone else to join. When the other empire joins you can use the leave federation option in their empire overview (along with the offer trade and there options).

I seem to be stuck too. This sucks. All other empires are in a Ferderation, or are vassals. What a pain in the ass.

Yep, I just got hit with this also. Can't invite any other empires as it's near the end of the game and everyone i either in a federation or a vassal.

Update: release a vassal if you can, add them to federation...contact them, leave federation. cost me some area but was worth it.

I had this issue myself I found a way around it, Communicate with the current head of the Federation and there should be the option to leave there.

Even if it is, it's worth noting that this is still an issue. I just had to scrap an Ironman game because of this issue.

Hello guys, I have a solution if you are like me...a dirty collectivist that purges every conquered planet :). Find a lesser species and elevate it via Observation Post. They will most likely have a high approval ratting. Once they "hatch" into a small empire just invite them and leave the federation. Took me 40-50 ingame years to find the workaround but it worked. As a reward to myself I conquered 3 fallen empires spawn on the same arm of the Galaxy..including the "Guardian" that bound me to the federation. Hope this helps!
