Pet or preserve what should I do with the crawlers?

So I've cloned a dead crawler and I have the choice to either distrubute them as pets across the empire (leader has random chance of getting them) or create a 1 time blocker sanctuary for them to live in on a planet. I doubt it'll affect anything but I honestly can't decide what to do with them. The one I picked up seemed to enjoy being with people so they may enjoy being pets, on the other hand a small natural preserve appeals too.

I'm off to bed so I'll leave the decision till tommorow night but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone has an opinion on this. Should I pet or preserve the crawler species?
