Mastery of Nature worth it now?
I'm on the fence. What has everyone else decided? Maybe situational if you have lots of small planets?

Edit: I thought about it a bit more, it still seems bad. I haven't looked to see how much the edict costs, but you only get 1-3 tiles. Unless that edict is super cheap, you could just expand a couple more times and break even or do better, plus have the benefit of another ascension perk. If anything, it seems worse because in the long game a 33% cut in tile blocker costs isn't very much. In the early game, where that sort of chump change would matter, you haven't typically maxed population so you don't even *have* to clear them yet.

Conclusion: It's even worse than it was before.

I think it costs too much influence and i would rather spend it on habitats if i want more space for pops.

Its good for empire builds with extreme population growth. Inward Perfection with the Adaptability Traditions. Hive with early food. Assimilators and Rogue Servitors.

Yes, that is rather niche but niche picks are less harmful to gameplay than the old MoN which was a clear obvious best pick in almost every situation.

I pick it whenever it so happens that my current playthrough involves colonizing quite the few planets below 15 tiles... other than that, I prefer using another perk in its place.

There is a follow-on perk that allows every world to be expanded to 25 tiles (for $ and influence), which makes it a little better. Still, not generally a good mod unless you are trying to go very tall, or you're playing with mods that allow a lot of perks.

You get +2 tiles if the planet is 13-15 tiles. If smaller, you get +3 tiles. If larger, you get +1 tile.

So the game considers 16 tiles to be a large planet? LOL.

No. It's not worth it.

On average, you're making every natural planet (not Hab/RW) you own +1.1 or PERHAPS +1.2 tiles larger. Anything affecting Tile Blocker removal cost (I can't be arsed to check if that's still included in the Perk) becomes irrelevant after 30-50 years of play, and if there is a reduction in Tile Blocker removal time then that's just always irrelevant.

I find it useful forpeaceful federation games where you gotta make the most of your worlds.

It's terrible now. +3 slots on planets WOOHOO.
Why would I want that when I am starting Life-seeded on my 25-size Gaia world and busy building Habitats and Ringworlds.

This was my primary go-to opener because it cleared your Social tech tree of so many techs and pushed your science really far forward.
Now it's jsut bad.

Technological Ascendency is my new favourite now.

i personally never liked it

It used to be my first pick when it actually completed research for all tile blockers.
Now it is never used in any game. The other perks are far better.

My Current game has the following, in order of selection;

Technological Ascendancy - 10% research speed.

Voidborne - Unlocks habitat (I will always not spend that perk until I have unlocked this, I will sometimes not spend the perk for ages).

Master Builders - 50% Megastructure build speed and 3 extra habitat slots.

Galatic Wonders - Unlocks main megastructures.

Executive Vigor - 50% edict duration, absolutely mandatory in every game.

Machine Worlds - 20% extra production for my pops.

Galatic Force Projection - +80 Naval, +20 Fleet.

My last one is either extra damage to Fallen Empires or extra damage to Crisis depending on how the current game is going.

Master builders Perk is meh! The new patch makes it rather useless.

The main reason for Master Builders is to get 3 extra slots per habitit. In my current game that is 90 extra pops.
The 50% extra speed is not great, but also not terrible.

Like all things, depends on your play. I see lots of how terrible it is because it doesnt fit into a one trick pony player's meta build?

It is a pretty awesome one though if you are playing a militatistic expansionist with a genetics and core worlds style focus. It adds up fast. The influence cost is too high though. Like every ascension, it is situational based. But must be terrible if niche.

Even tile clearance. Through late game it can have a significant effect too. For my one empire with heavy slavery, a couple tiles a planet is still equal to a 15% production boost that is cheaper and faster than equal output from say habitats. It is used combined with expansion. I take new space, I upgrade that space while building other stuff. Multitasking in the empire.

I liked it befor and after. Its always my first pick.

Don't take this as me being conflictory, I am actually inquisitive. I would like to hear your take and why you like it so much? Share how it is advantageous to your style of play :D
