Necroid Features
What is the features of the Necroids besides the civics and the unique building? I thought you could sacrifice your people for bonuses but I'm not seeing any option to do that?

Death Cult Civic lets you use Sacrifice Edicts.
They have no unique racial/species traits, only Lithoids do.
You can pick Death Cult, Memorialist, or Necrophage with any species, like humanoid, reptilian, Lithoid, etc.

Unique ability to convert other races into your. So you can have super-fast breeding proles and in some time super specialists without need for constant resettle from 2 breeding planets (and loosing 20% growth speed for locking race to growth).

Which isn't really unique because assimilators did that for ages. xD

Phew. They only added a cyborg trait and not converted pop into completely another race.

They become your pigeons who will happily dig resources and whatever else you want, that's plenty as far as i'm concerned. xD

-75% main pop growth
+80 leader lifespan, stacks with Venerable. Say nay to Psionics, because the Shroud kills off your fancy folks.
+3 assimilation each 10 year. Can be upgraded once to +6 +1 per 50 pop. Ecumenopolis yay.

So you want gene tailoring, because psionics kills your leaders and synthetic assimilation you already have.

Nihilistic Acquisition also works out nicely.

Necroids themselves (as in the new picture tab in the DLC pack) has no features directly attached to them (so not like the Lithods where just picking them gives you a trait).

The DLC adds several civics (Memorialist, Death cults, reanimated armies). The death cult one allows you to sacrifice people for bonuses.

It also adds a new origin that makes your main pop "Necrophages". Necrophages has slow growth but has a special building and a purge stance that turns other species into them, starts with secondary species on your capital, guaranteed habitable worlds start with primitives. They also have some a buff to ruler & specialist output and lifespan, but a debuff to worker output. Also, with the origin only your Necrophage main pops can be leaders or rulers.

Other then that there are also a bunch of visual stuff like the new shipset, the new rooms, the new buildingset, etc.

This is the benefits of a necrophage not a necroid.

Necroids are just a Portrait, all the new civics work with the other race types

Except machines, we just get one crappy civic that also blocks you from going assimilator or anihilator if you pick it up, making it basically worthless. :>

To be fair, undead and machine doesnt realy mix well. How does something die that doesnt live?
Dont get me wrong, I am always for more options, but lorewise its difficult to explain.

Well, as an assimilator... i'd prefer if nobody asked how we assimilate something that is SUPPOSEDLY - dead. :> Because... i have no friggin' idea. lol

Have you seen the skin color of the Borg? They do not seem very healthy and alive either.

Mind boggling that people would say no to psionic leaders with venerable
