But overall it's definitely not that great. I however doesn't reastart the game just based on that and just take the bad luck.
1) Weather Control Systems + Anti-G Engineering (if you don't have them yet, restore the Ecu with those)
2) +15% Industry Research Speed (permanent empire modifier)
3) +10% build speed (meh)
4) Scientist gets Industry Expertise (same like Cybrex reversed, i.e. research the project with a voidcraft+genius scientist to get the ultimate head of engineering)
If nothing else, perfectly suited for synth ascension and Ecu restoration. The huge boon is also that you can get this relic world early on, and it always is 25 size, although it can have negative effects as well. The project only costs 6k to research, then you're done.
While the Cybrex are initially mostly good for unlocking Mega-Engineering. The project already costs 12k and ME itself another 48k. So even if you have something like 1k research by 2240-50, it would take something like 180 months to research both (60k : ~333).
Ergo, if you get the thing completed early, you basically can't do anything with it. Can't restore the Ring World, shouldn't research mega-engineering (too expensive), and the relic...
Well. This is one of those "teach a man to fish" things. You can pay 150 influence and 10k minerals now to get 5k alloys, or you *could* pay 200 influence and 20k minerals to restore Fen Habbanis III. And produce a lot more alloys in the most efficient manner, way earlier.
Of course you also could have another relic world, but that's just it. TBH the precursors are just a bonus, you can also "win" with the trash-tier precursors, Irassians or Yuht.
Restarting - if at all - should be based on totally different factors, like wether you have unbearable neighbors, or none at all, or you are locked in, or have no mineral deposts within 5 jumps, etc etc.
Otherwise i'd just install the Known Precursor mod again.

Nah, I usually have a specific roleplay in mind.
I didn't know the ecu worlds were so good for alloys. Yeah it's the Cybrex Warforge I like most of all.
Does that mod let you choose precursors?
"This mod adds an edict that will open a selection screen where you can pick your precursor."
It's in the description of the mod.
Zron and Cybros both trip on the Spiritual/Material axis.
Iras for the Miltary/Peaceful axis.
First League for Authoritarian/Egalitarian.
Cybros is unbalanced. First segment ready around 2260. 3rd ascension pick Galactic Wonders, and before 2300 you got a Dyson Sphere or Matter Decompressor.
The anomaly precursors can be incredibly frustrating too. You might only find 3 of the anomalies after searching a hundred systems and never get it.
