Is Machine World good for the first planet as Mechanoid?
I start with one when I choose the Resource Consolidation Origin.

Even as Driven Assimalator?
What are the differences of Machine Worlds compared to normal planets?

As long as your cyborgs can grow on it, it should be fine.

Machine Worlds give percentage boost to everything. You can also build whatever districts you want on it. The only issue is food with DA.

Is it better than Prosperous Unification?

I haven't really experienced the effects nor ever colonized a Gaia world before.
Would you kindly explain the benefits of Gaia worlds/ Machine Worlds

Much, much better than Gaia worlds - you start with all building slots open.

Bonus is that you get +10% resource output and -10% housing needs. Also you have better planetary designations. For any additional machine worlds you terraform, the unique bonus (same like Hive Worlds) is that the resource districts are no longer capped by planetary features.
So if a planet might initially only have 3/25 mining districts, transformed to a Machine World you could build 25 mining districts.

dont start with machine worlds, if you go too easy on yourself it will be a habit and you'll never taste the glory of dragging an organic empire to victory

if your going driven assimilator, machine world as starter world can be a bit of a challenge, you'll need to get some other world for agriculture quickly to sustain your cyborg pops you start with.

heh, one thing you COULD do, make your cyborg pops plant based, and give them the new trait to make half their upkeep energy and half food.

OR

use lithoid starting pops who only need mineral upkeep, which a machine world can easily do.

lots of options to make it work, all of em fun. driven assimilator can be one of the easier playstyles imo so its a fun way to play machine race empires.

The only food on a machine world is an organic slurry.
The last remants of the life that used to be there. XD
