Is it alright to invade primitives?

I can't do machine Integration on the primitives because they're not cyborgs.
How do I turn a species into Cyborgs?

Uplift, then integrate.

Just land troop transports on a primitive world within your territory and they will automatically be assimilated.

EDIT: You do mean primitives as in haven't left their planet yet and not pre-sapient species correct?

But the option to change their rights to Machine Integration is unavailable as they are not Cyborgs. How to turn them into Cyborgs?

Are you sure they are not pre-sapient? Primitives should automatically be assimilated. For pre-sapients you'd have to do what captain403 said I guess. It's been awhile since I've run into pre-sapients.

Cyborg is irrelevant. The problem is either:
1: They are pre-sapient, in which case you need to uplift, or
2: You have a policy that stops you from setting assimilation in the species rights U.I. Find out which policy, and change that, then the species rights should allow you to assimilate.

Alright.

How do I uplift a pre-sapient species after getting the tech?

1. The only species rights for non-mechanical pops is "assimilation", that cannot be changed. So as soon as there are any organic pops in your empire, they become cyborgs automatically.

Only exception are Hive Mind pops which can only be purged.

2. Pre-sapient species would appear in the list of your empire species after colonizing the planet they live on. There is a bug which permanently shows a notification about an upliftable species missing trait points, even if you have not colonized their planet yet.

They are clearly marked with a "pre-sapient" tag in your species list. Clicking on them shows a button to the left - "uplift"

Does uplifting them cost anything? How long does it take to turn 1 of their pops into Cyborgs?

Uplifting takes a few months. You get 500 influence as a reward, don't let it spill over.

Ok, thanks for the help everyone :D

Is there a difference between Uplifting a Primitive species and Enlightening a Species?
captain403 Sep 22, 2021 @ 7:54am
You don't uplift primitives. You uplift pre-sentients, after you colonise their planet.

Enlightening is what you do to primitives. But a DA should simply invade them, without enlightening them. Assimilation will then follow as a natural consequence.

By default all pops, except for pre-sapients(even lower than primatives) will be put into the "Assimilation" rights level. This will turn them all into cyborgs over time. Unless you already changed something, this should happen automatically as soon as you occupy the planet

I just take the raiding bombardment stance (the ascension perk) and thats how I get all my pops. I depopulate primitives and when I go to war I just steal the enemies pops for the entire war. Its really strong if you also take resource consolidation and take lithoid as the bio species you get. They will have 100% habitability on the machine world which is great.
